Guiding Global Thinkers in Math

This Thursday I will be hosting the #MathMindset chat and am looking forward to telling how I helped create global thinkers in my math classes through the use of Mystery Number Hangout/Skype. This adventure in communication and collaboration occurs between 2 classes located anywhere in the world. Each class chooses a secret number and through the tools of Hangouts/Skype, Voxer, and/or Periscope they ask Yes/No questions to figure out the other class's number. To see my students dig deep to figure out not only how to ask questions, but deep meaningful productive questions helping them gain valuable information is truly amazing to see!

In this document link, I've outlined how I got started and how you can jump right in as well! While my current position is currently out of the classroom, I always love helping classes get started with Mystery Number Adventures. Send me a tweet, @kitty_tripp and I'll be glad to get you on the road of building successful global math thinkers!

  1. It seems I'm on the right track, I hope I can do well. The result was something I did and was doing to implement it.
